The Groovy Grove is a special place that me and Bethany discovered many years ago. It was a secret spot in the woods filled with edible plants for as far as the eye can see. Surrounded by trees hanging with fruit, and not a neighbour or house for miles. This dreamy little space kept us entertained and refreshed for hours throughout the years. A place to sit around the campfire all night telling stories, a place for impromptu parties with friends that never end. A foodie heaven where we could turn up with a pan and eat like kings, and the best bit, an unlimited supply of wild fruits for making wines, ciders, and cocktails, to keep the party going even longer! We adored this place as our sanctuary and were very fortunate to have found it.
Places like this are few and far between, but with some imagination and hard work, it can be recreated anywhere. We want to share this magic with as many people as possible, as we truly believe that being in these natural spaces is nourishing for the mind body and soul. By reconnecting with these places, we are reconnecting with our ancestors, and in a way, transporting us to a simpler time where people would live more freely and in tune with the planet they are a part of.
The Groovy Grove has now grown up and moves around the country. Capturing that original essence of freedom and self reliance, we teach people how to live freely, in harmony with nature and how to have plenty of fun while they are doing it!
We run nature based events that teach, inspire and entertain. From woodland children's parties to festival cocktail bars. If your event is looking for a wild side, then The Groovy Grove can bring it to you.
As well as growing food, I love to forage for it too. Every season brings with it a new menu with new flavours to try. Throughout the year we host a variety of foraging tours across the Essex countryside. From wild cocktail making, to winter survival days. There are fun days out suited to everyone.
